Ski Touring The Pyrenees Spain

Ski tour the Pyrenees. A wonderful ski touring adventure with a great backdrop of Pyrenees mountains. The quiet cousins of the Alps. Spanish Pyrenees provide great snow conditions

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to don your skis and head off into the heart of the most beautiful national park of the Spanish Pyrenees, The Encantats. You will have between 600m and 1000m assents each day with a back drop of the stunning mountain ranges. The Pyrenees is far quieter than the Alps, which creates a deep impression of you being alone in the wilderness. With this isolation you will be likely to see more wildlife and experience more of what a real expedition feels like.

If you are a beginner or experienced you are welcome.. and we can tailor the expedition to your needs and abilities.

The below expedition consists of 6 days ski-touring, including one night in a refuge. However please note we are flexible and are able to arrange shorter trips or longer ones to suit your time and ability.

You evening and nights will be spent in the quite village Salardu. (this will be our base for the 6 days). We will leave each morning at 8.00am

Day 1:

Arrival to Toulouse, direction of the Val d'Aran, Spanish valley of the north Pyrenees, test and familiarizing of the technical materiel, and ARVA (victim research in avalanches).

Day 2 to 5: (Each day we will make one summit or a traverse!)

Between 600 and 1000m assents: We will chose the ideal area for your ability. All assents will be smooth within aw-inspiring surroundings. . This destinations will include :

- Cirque de Colomers ( 2000m, area known as 'the 1000 lakes' area)

- Pic de Lucia ( 2600m)

- Montcorbison ( 2400m)

Day 6 to 7: (A 2 day mini tour!)

We leave in the morning, direction : refuge of Saboredo, altitude 2100m.

Dinner, night and breakfast in the refuge.

Return to the hotel.

Day 8 : journey back to the UK

Material needed:

- Skis & boots: these can be hired for approx E35 a day. Please ask on booking as we will need to know feet size & your height.
- ARVA
- Snow probe
- Shovel
- Sun glasses
- Goggles
- Mittens
- Gloves
- Ski clothes

This week will be run every from Saturday (arrival day) to the following Sunday (departure day) for all the winter weeks (mid-December to mid March).
