Expedition Kiltimanjaro
Bill Cook and "Bash" (John Henderson) who reached the top of Kilimanjaro twice and have just returned from a "tuk tuk" race (where they drove his Rickshaw for over 3000 miles in India) are now on another mission.. (there is no stopping these two!!...) This time Bill wants to head back to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with 99 fellow Scots... (or to be more accurate, 99 men and women in kilts, being Scottish is not a requirement!!)
Expedition Kiltimanjaro will be an awesome achievement led by 360 Expeditions. Raj Joshi, who led the successful 2009 Comic Relief expedition, and Rolfe Oostra (both directors) will be with you every step of the way and are looking forward to seeing the 100 kilts on the summit. This will be a phenomenal spectacular and one that we hope will make it into the Guinness book of records.
Kiltimanjaro will be predominately be supporting Aberlour. Aberlour is the largest, solely Scottish, children's charity who provide help to over 6000 of Scotland's most vulnerable children, young people and their families each year. We at 360 Expeditions are very proud to be supporting such a worthy cause. One hundred pounds from each trekker will be directly given to Aberlour and thereafter If you wish to raise more for any charity please feel free to do so. For further information please do visit www.aberlour.org.uk. Please note that this is not a Charity Trek, but we will be generously donating £100 of your payment to Alberlour, and you are encouraged to raise more if possible.
The Expedition
Kilimanjaro
23rd September - 3rd October 2010
£2200 per person
The logistisc of having a 100 kilts on kilimanjaro and reaching the summit all togther is interesting. It is likely that we will have four groups of 25 clients per group. Each group will be taking a different route to the top. This will give room for one group to have a more challenging and technical trek to the summit as well as giving the whole team the support that we at 360 feel is necessary to be successful in climbing this amazing mountain. By splitting into four groups will be an exciting way to climb kilimanjaro as you will meet on the roof of Africa together.
Rolfe Oostra, who many of you know from previous expeditions, who has now climbed Kilimanjaro more than 22 times, and Raj Joshi who led the 100% successful celebrity Comic Relief Kilimanjaro trek in march 2009 (documented on the BBC) will be on hand to answer any of your questions you may have about this climb. Raj Joshi is also a qualified doctor and specialises in wilderness medicine.. so again please do get in touch if you wish to discuss anything medical.
Rolfe and Raj are well known in the region of Kilimanjaro and are very much at home on all the routes reaching the top. The variety of landscape discovered on the day to day ascent, the good company of our ground crew, and the physical demands of the climb all make for an experience that is simply unforgettable!

There will also be an option to take a spice tour or take a trip back to nature, where you can head to Jozani forest. This is the only remaining natural forest in Zanzibar. It is possible here to catch a rare sight of the special Red Colobus Monkey. If you wish to learn more on the culture you will be able to make a visit to the House of Wonders Museum.
