International Womens Day: Women Only Trips coming your way!

360 Expeditions

Happy International Womens Day to all of the wonderful women in our lives.

Creating spaces exclusive to women empowers more women to join us on these adventures. Which is why we decided to launch a series of Women Only expeditions to create that very welcoming, open and inclusive space for women to experience adventures of epic proportion.

“From personal experience, women only spaces have given me a huge amount of confidence which I can then carry forward into mixed groups. I have found and connected with new friends and feel a part of a supportive network of adventurous women.” Elouise, Traveller

Without further ado, check out our series of Women Only trip dates below and decide on which expedition really takes a hold of you…

Thousand Lakes trek

Deserving a place on every trekker’s bucket list, the Thousand Lakes trek is a unique and simply spectacular experience that ticks every box. Beautiful peaks, varied trekking trails with dramatic views, a satisfying challenge for those mountain legs and true to its name – there are a multitude of lakes found in every corner. A welcomed treat to cool off after passing over one of the many cols on this unforgettable trekking experience. You will embark on a stunning loop trekking up to 10 miles and tackling 2800m of ascent over the course of the trek – which is in fact more ascent than you would cover trekking Kilimanjaro from base camp!

Often people that have trekked in the Alps are bowled over by the Pyrenees and say that it is all of the best elements of the Alps while feeling quieter and giving you a real sense of an escape. In fact, you can trek throughout the day and hardly see a single soul… more likely to come across a marmot – or at least hear their squeals as they dart around the rocks, or spot vultures flying overhead.

Winter Toubkal

Reaching North Africa’s highest peak in 3 days of trekking is a satisfying and truly stunning experience. Being thrown into the colourful chaos of Marrakech then diving into the tranquillity and grandeur of the Atlas Mountain range is a refreshing tonic and sets the precedence for the entire trek. Setting off from the character-filled little town of Imlil and carrying out a trekking loop to take in a real taste of the Moroccan mountains firstly away from the ‘tourist’ track, you get an unfiltered immersion of Morocco and some of its most beautifully raw elements. A hike of many moments… Watch out for those pesky goats roaming the hills as soon as the mountain-side picnics come out, they may just attempt to steal your lunch! Yet, standing atop Toubkal at 4167m and looking out at the panoramic views is an unforgettable moment that everyone should get to experience in their lifetime.

Expedition Skills Course

Whether you are a veteran in the mountains and looking at brushing up your skills in preparation for a 6,7 or 8000m peak or whether you are in the early stages of mountaineering and looking at bagging a few peaks while having loads of fun along the way. This wild week in the Pyrenees will see you come away with heaps of grown confidence, new skills and a greater understanding of the mountains around you.

The Pyrenees serves as an untapped alternative to the Alps or Scottish Highlands for the aspiring winter mountaineer – it really is hard to find a better playground to learn the basic skills and requirements for winter mountain travel. Snowshoeing into your base for the week – the action starts almost immediately… from learning self arrest techniques to building snow holes, learning basic ice climbing, building snow and ice anchors and belays, and assessing avalanche hazard. Staying in the rustic mountain hut each night adds an extra special touch to the experience, with 3 course mountain grub and toasty fires after each day of exploring. This one week will set you up for taking things up a notch in the mountains and moving safely and confidently. Not to mention, having an absolute ball of a time while you’re at it!

Snowshoeing Escape

Snowshoe through snow-topped forest, follow freshly beaten trails from valley bottoms and wind up above the clouds. It doesn’t take long to feel you have truly escaped, as you step out into remote stretches of hillside with just your fellow explorers for company. Cloud inversions, vultures flying over, and crisp white peaks are all sights to see as you explore the blanketed mountains of the Pyrenees. We think this one wins the prize for a pretty epic picnic spot.

This 4 day adventure is the perfect addition to squeeze in the diary and get an authentic winter wonderland experience over a long weekend. Not to mention, a hearty fromage fix too!

Best of the Pyrenees

An absolute blast… every day bringing a new adventure highlighting the very best of the Pyrenees. From the Thousand Lakes trek that is breathtakingly beautiful, spotting marmots darting between rocks, dipping your feet in the refreshing lakes while you lunch, taking on the challenging ascents and descents as you pass through each valley and over cols into the tranquil setting of the Aiguestortes National park. To canyoning through the gorgeous limestone canyon of Viu and abseiling, swimming, scrambling and hollering as you jump into crystal clear pools! And last but not least, rafting through the dramatic gorge with birds darting into cracks in the rock, red limestone walls towering either side of you as you make your way to the banks of the water for your lunch stop before continuing on. This is one heck of a jam-packed action week of adventure.

Kang Yatse 2

The perfect 6000er for those looking for the next step after Kilimanjaro… Kang Yatse 2 offers an extraordinary and unique experience trekking and ascending a far quieter peak. Rich in culture, vast in landscape, and unparallel in its sense of escape and tranquillity, this expedition combines all the very best aspects of a mountain experience.

We trek a stunning circular route that takes you through ancient Buddhist culture, monasteries and ever-changing landscape of the Markha Valley. Being inaccessible for many months in the winter, the whole area feels as if time has stood still and has allowed rare Himalayan wildlife to thrive.

We urge you to experience this peak now before this snowballs in popularity…
