The puja is a Buddhist ceremony held to appease the gods and spirits that dwell on the mountain you have come to climb.

Our puja held before attempting Everest North was not only hugely successful but also great fun!

Not sure what Mallory and his team would have thought of the techno beats which were cranked up after formalities but for the modern day Sherpa and Tibetan crew, they seemed to be as much part of receiving the goddesses blessing as the praying, juniper, smoke and copper bells.
