Dave is part of our epic Pyrenees guiding team, and is an experienced International Mountain Leader and outdoor educator. After completing 22 years in the British Army, mainly delivering adventure training, he worked as an outdoor trainer in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, France, Germany and the UAE, he also holds the highest UK mountaineering qualification of Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor.

Dave heads up many of our Aneto treks as well as trekking and cycling in the stunning French Pyrenees, where he lives with his wife Louise, son Jake and two dogs Mir and Storm.

When Dave is not guiding you in the mountains, you’ll find him cycling, paddling, skiing, climbing, snowshoeing and listening to music… loudly!

It was great taking part in a bespoke, prototype expedition on an empty mountain in a beautiful part of the world. It’s a challenge; it’s remote; you carry your own kit. Stunning scenery too! Highlights for me were exploring a new mountainous region, surrounded by serenity from start to finish. The cultural mix of ethnicities, religions and languages was apparent throughout and very enriching. The assembled support team, climbing sherpas and local teams were excellent, and there were excellent chefs, meals with plenty of fruit and veg.
